Mantra for Days Like These

when both of the office workers are gone and I'm printing crap out because the bosses are too busy and important to do it:

I'm a college professor. I'm a college professor. I'm a college professor.

(Did I mention that I'm supposed to do bookkeeping, not secretarial junk?)

I'm a college professor. I'm a college professor. I'm a college professor.

(Yes, I am at work, blogging on their computer. Yes, I do need to stop now because I have to resize an Excel spreadsheet so it doesn't print out on four pages.)

I'm a college professor. I'm a college. . .AGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Paychecks are good. Paychecks are good. Paychecks are good.

PS, back in undergrad when I was trapped working reception one summer I read most of the Norton anthology, hiding it on my lap (I wasn't supposed to be reading anything). Poems are great because they're short bursts of wonderfulness that you can easily dip in and out of.

You could probably get pretty far through one of those anthologies!

I know someone who wrote poetry at her boring job - and ended up getting some awards for it!
